Experience

Senior citizens, youth, and multi-generational community centers
“The building is strikingly attractive and definitely an architectural asset. After 10 years of active use by older adults and community members of all ages, the building still looks fresh and new. The design really is timeless.”
Jan Flora, Chief (retired)
Carroll County Bureau of Aging
Our designers have conducted feasibility studies, participated in short- and long-term facility-related planning exercises, and designed renovations, additions, and new facilities for dozens of senior citizens, multi-generational, and adult day care centers. We have worked closely with facility planners, administrators, staff, and citizens groups, representing Area Agencies on Aging, local and county governments, private and private non-profit providers. Through this significant body of project experience, continuing education in aging and aging-related issues, and intensive involvement with associations of aging-services professionals, we have gained a uniquely detailed “insiders’ perspective” on the changing needs of this dynamic industry.
Doug Gallow led the design of neighborhood-focused senior centers and youth centers that became prototypes for numerous similar facilities in other communities. Each project incorporated shared organizational objectives in the design of custom-tailored community-specific facilities.
